It measures 34mm in diameter - the size of a Rolex Date model.
The Oysterdate Precision have become desirable non-sport vintage Rolex watches because their understated and classic design contrast the "busier" look of some of the modern Rolex watches. It's a watch that is at home being worn everyday or only for special occasions. Produced from the early 1950's into the 1980's, it was a strong commercial success for Rolex, winning a large following.
Powering the watch is its original Rolex Caliber 1225RB handwound movement with date and shock resistance.
It has all original parts down to the dial, hands, and winding crown.
Its case is just short of mint with light wear underneath the lugs and very slight remnants of wear to the sides. On the wrist the case presents as mint. Its untouched original dial is mint with lightly toned luminous. And its original Rolex movement is near pristine.
It has been recently serviced and is running strong and true, keeping time on par with a new Rolex chronometer in our testing position.
For the finishing touch we have equipped it with a brand new crocodile strap making it ready for immediate enjoyment.
Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function, a full-page custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
Note: Published examples of this model can be found in Osvaldo Patrizzi's work Rolex, Collecting Wristwatches, 2001 Edition, Vol. 2, p. 378-381.
